From 16th of June till 17th of June the Luxembourg Federation FLBB supported by FIBA Europe was proud to present an international Coach clinic in Luxembourg where also the coaches could assist to the game of our Women National Team vs. Latvia in their campain of Women Eurobasket Qualification for 2013.
The main topic of the Coach clinic was to offer the local coaches an insight of the LTAD Luxembourg ( Long Term Athlete Development ) and to help them improving with new ideas in the youth development from U 14 up to U 20 and over.
Although the number of the local coaches wasn’t in a numerous amount as we expected, still we were happy to welcome over 40 coaches from all over Europe and to our surprise as well from Qatar! This shows us that the interest in youth development is so actual and important everywhere.
With experienced lecturer in youth development as Mr. Fabio Fossati ( FIBA Coach and many years in Euroleague Women) , as Mr. Philippe Ory – Head Coach of French U 18 Men’s National Team and Mr. Rene Spandauw – Head Coach of Royals Saarlouis / Germany Women Team , not only the coaches that attended to the clinic could learn from their basketball philosophy but I believe as well that all our Demo National Teams that helped out could pick up some tricks from these experienced coaches.
So in my opinion I think we could say that the Coach clinic was quite successful and we hope in the future to be able to organize even more successful clinics.
At the end I would like to thank to the Luxembourg Federation to FIBA Europe for their support, as well I’d like to thank to all my colleagues for their hard work and help in the organization , to our National players who helped out the lecturer holding their sessions and last but not least to all the participating coaches that made such a long trip to Luxembourg.
